The United Way Day of Caring is a yearly event that takes place on the third Wednesday of each September. An event that started with around 50 volunteers has now grown into an event that includes nearly 2,000 volunteers completing 200 projects in Charlottesville, Albemarle, Fluvanna, Louisa, Nelson and Greene. The value of the volunteer's service in the 2014 United Way Day of Caring was over $250,000.
You can get involved in the next United Way Day of Caring if you work at a nonprofit or public school by signing up to submit a project. To learn more, click here for nonprofits or schools. If you are interested in volunteering with your office or community group, click here for volunteers.
